Precision machining & industrial repair

Lambda Machine Works is a family-run machine shop. We machine custom metal parts to print — and when a pump, gearbox, or shaft brings your line down, we rebuild it and get you running again.

What we do

Two ways we keep your operation moving

Half our bench is repair work — worn industrial components rebuilt back to spec. The other half is contract machining: your drawing, our machines, parts delivered ready to install.

Why Lambda

A master machinist's standards, a family shop's accountability

Our shop is led by a machinist with a lifetime at the lathe. When you call, you talk to the people who will actually do the work — and we stand behind every part that leaves the bench.

  • Talk to the machinist, not a call center. The person quoting your job is the person running it.
  • Repair first, replace second. If a component can be rebuilt to spec, we'll tell you — and save you the OEM price and lead time.
  • Downtime-aware. Breakdown work jumps the queue. Tell us your line is down and we'll treat it that way.
  • DFW-wide. Based in Frisco, working across Dallas–Fort Worth — pickup and delivery available for repair jobs.

How it works

From broken part to back in service

STEP 01

Send the part or print

Call or email a photo, a drawing, or the failed component itself. For repairs, a few photos usually get the conversation started.

STEP 02

Inspection & honest quote

We tear down and measure, then quote the repair before any machining starts. No surprises after the fact.

STEP 03

Machine & rebuild

Journals rebuilt, bores restored, new bearings and seals fitted — every critical dimension checked on the bench.

STEP 04

Back in your hands

Pickup at the shop or delivery across DFW, with the old parts returned so you can see exactly what was done.

Machine down? Part worn out?

Send us a photo of the part and tell us what it came off of. We'll tell you straight whether it can be rebuilt — and what it will cost.

Our story

Started with a lathe, a reputation, and a simple idea

Lambda Machine Works grew out of decades of hands-on machining. Our lead machinist has spent his career making and repairing the metal parts that keep factories, plants, and workshops running — the shafts, pumps, and gearboxes nobody notices until they fail.

When we set up in Frisco, the idea was straightforward: a small shop that answers its own phone, quotes honestly, and treats a worn shaft or a dead pump with the urgency it deserves. Around the repair bench, we added CNC machining — so the parts we used to send out, we now make in-house, to print and to tolerance.

Today we serve maintenance managers, plant operators, and fellow shops across the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex: rebuilding what's broken, and machining what nobody stocks anymore.

How we work

What you can count on

Measure twice, cut once

Every journal, bore, and mating surface is measured before and after machining. If a part can't be brought back to spec, we say so before you spend money on it.

Repair before replace

OEM lead times run to weeks and OEM prices run high. A rebuilt shaft or pump, machined back to tolerance, is often back in service in days — at a fraction of the cost.

Straight answers

You deal directly with the machinists doing the work. Clear quotes up front, honest timelines, and the old parts on the bench for you to inspect when you pick up.

Who we serve

Built for DFW industry

Manufacturing plants, water and process facilities, warehouses, food and packaging operations, machine shops that need overflow capacity — if it spins, pumps, or drives a line, we've likely had one on the bench.

Have a part that needs a machinist's eye?

Bring it by, send a photo, or send the print. First conversations are free — and honest.

Industrial Repair

Pump Repair & Rebuilding

A leaking seal or a seized bearing shouldn't mean a new pump. We tear down, inspect, and rebuild industrial pumps — restoring the fits and clearances that make them run like they should.

  • Centrifugal, split-case, and end-suction pumps
  • Mechanical seals, bearings, and wear rings replaced
  • Impellers repaired or machined new
  • Shafts rebuilt or remade; casing bores restored
  • Full inspection report before any work begins

Industrial Repair

Gearbox Repair & Rebuilding

Noisy, leaking, or locked up — we open gearboxes up, find what actually failed, and rebuild them with the machining done in-house, so you're not waiting on a third party for the critical surfaces.

  • Complete teardown, cleaning, and measurement
  • Bearings, seals, and shims replaced; backlash set to spec
  • Worn shaft journals and gear bores machined back to size
  • Replacement gears and shafts made when OEM parts are obsolete
  • Housings repaired — cracked corners, damaged mounting faces

Industrial Repair

Shaft Rebuilding

The shaft is where pumps and gearboxes live or die. Scored seal surfaces, worn bearing journals, damaged keyways — we build the surface back up and finish-machine it to the original dimension, so standard bearings and seals fit like new.

  • Bearing journals built up and ground/machined to size
  • Seal surfaces restored for leak-free running
  • Keyways repaired or re-cut; threads chased or re-machined
  • Straightening and runout checks on the lathe
  • Complete new shafts machined when rebuilding isn't sound

CNC Machining — Mill & Lathe

Send a print, a CAD file, or a sample part. We machine custom components in steel, stainless, aluminum, brass, and engineering plastics — one prototype or a short production run.

  • CNC milling and CNC turning to your drawing
  • Reverse engineering from a sample or broken part
  • Replacement parts for obsolete or imported equipment
  • Threading, boring, keyways, and precision fits
  • Overflow capacity for shops with more work than machines

Welding & Light Fabrication

Repair welding is part of bringing components back — building up worn surfaces before machining, fixing cracked housings, and fabricating the small steelwork that keeps a plant running.

  • Build-up welding for shaft and bore restoration
  • Crack repair on housings, brackets, and frames
  • Machine guards, brackets, and mounting plates
  • Small fixtures and one-off fabrications

Line down? Breakdown repairs get priority scheduling. Call (214) 662-7171 and tell us what's down — we'll give you a straight answer on timing the same day.
